Antiques Appraisals
The fifth annual "New Baltimore Antique Appraisal Show" is the May program of the New
Baltimore Historical Society. Antique Appraiser John DeMuch, founder of the Marine City
Antique Warehouse, will discuss antiques and also provide an appraisal clinic. Members
of the public are invited to bring their favorite antique to the show. The cost per item is
five dollars with a two-item limit. Proceeds from the clinic will be donated to the Grand
Pacific House Museum in downtown New Baltimore.
   A member of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America, DeMuch also does auctions
and estate sales. he formerly served with the U.S. State Department and the Peace Corps.
   Antique expert Fran Yaquinto, a long-time antique dealer, will be assisting DeMuch
with the program.
   The program takes place Thursday, May 15 at 7 PM at the First Congregational Church
Youth Building, located at 36223 Alfred in New Baltimore. There is a one dollar admission
for the program.
                         
                                           
Installation Dinner
  The Installation Dinner will take place at Cedar Glen Golf Club located on 25 Mile Road
in New Baltimore on June 19, 2008. Social time and cash bar begins at 6 PM. Dinner will
be served at 6:30 PM. Dinner reservations (approx. $15) may be made by calling Shirley at
725-0842 by June 13.
   Before the program begins, the installation of all officers and directors will take place.
The following will assume their duties: Richard Gonyeau, President; Dan Stucky,
Vice-President; Judy Stucky, Secretary; Larry Marentette, Treasurer; Barbara Richards,
Bob Mack, and Shirley Hageman, and Alice Emerick, Directors.

News briefs:
Welcome new member Angie Smith of New Baltimore.

TheTastefest will be back this year! It will be held on June 24, 5 to 8 PM in the Bay-Rama
tent. Adults: $25; Kids (10-17) $5; 9 and under Free. Many local restaurants participating.

Museum Gift Shop: Changes are being made to update. We have many new items
reasonably priced.

Our annual auction will be held in July this year. We hope to clean up the Barn for future
use to include workshops, History Fairs, and other programs.

The 17th annual Summer's Not Boring programs will be held from July 2 through August 6
on Wednesdays in the Museum at 1 PM. Suggested ages are 6-12. Program details will be
published in the Bay Voice. This is being organized again by Mary Ann Bayer.

Congratulations to Life Member Beth Bagley-Stanton. She was selected as Citizen of the
Year in New Baltimore.

Thanks to Paulette Shearer who has offered to assist Judy in preparing the newsletter
and tending to secretarial duties.

A new antique furniture and gift shop has opened in what was Washington Street Station.
It will be open 6 days a week. We should all stop in to welcome the new business.

The Annual Pasta Dinner sponsored by the Chesterfield Historical Society will be held on
May 21, 5:30-7:30 PM at the Senior Center. $9 donation; under 13 is $6. Door prizes and
music..

Bay-Rama is coming! Dates are June 25-29.
